The role

As Media & Communications Intern, I coordinated an employer-brand recruiting initiative, gathering employee insights and producing materials to strengthen talent attraction. I also authored and distributed company-wide internal communications that kept staff informed of ongoing operations.

Employer brand & recruiting

I designed recruiting materials that show what a maritime career actually looks like, from a “Port in Focus” overview flyer to a scannable, QR-driven call-to-action pointing candidates to the talent-development team.

Portside Stories

I launched Portside Stories, an employee spotlight series built on first-person interviews with team members across customer service, operations, buying, labor relations, and safety, giving prospective hires a real look at the people and growth paths at Ports America.

Internal communications & sustainability

I authored the Net Zero feature for the company's Summer 2025 publication, covering the Green Marine Certification Program, which grew from 7 to 21 certified sites since 2023, plus Clean Ports funding, Chesapeake Bay oyster restoration, and the decarbonization roadmap.
